Using 3D Software to ‘extract’ depth of paint from a series of scanned Caravaggio and Mark Rothko paintings.
Process
I experimented with photoshop techniques, rendering options and lighting of a 3D object to transform painted artworks into abstract 3D objects that attempt to convey a sense of emotional depth through the layers of 3D information based on textures, lighting and form.
